[Boatanchors] Bought the Third Edition of "Radiotron Designer's Handbook" today. . .

Today I was just browsing through the "2nd Time Around" used bookstore,
looking for old electronics books.

For a large store, they only had a very few electronic or other
technical books, mostly old computer stuff.

Then I stumbled across a real "Treasure"! A nice "Radiotron Designer's
Handbook, Third edition. November 1941". Yes, there is 'some'
yellowing' of the pages, and the page edges of the book are darkened a
bit. But the covers are quite good and it doesn't appear that any of
the pages are dogeared or torn or anything. Overall it's very nice for a
74 year old book (At 72 I should look so good ;-)

Anyway, the 'clincher" was when I opened it and saw the "Ownership
history", not the individuals names, but the dates. The owner entered
his name twice, with different addresses.

Property of
Les L. Galloway
Venice Calif
July 6, 1943 (I was born Aug 1943)

Property of
Les L. Galloway
Corpus Christi, Texas

And also stamped

Private Library of
R. H. de Gaston

Like I said, the names don't mean anything to me, but the 1943 date
does, plus it's a nice book to have in the library. I DO have a number
of PDF files of various editions of the book (both 3rd edition and 4th
edition for sure), but it's nice to have the 'real' thing. Of course I
HAD to buy it. . .
