I found KN0EQH listed in my Fall 57 CallBook.

The first NOVICE call sign I find in the Zero district listing is KN0EMT.
There are no WN or KN callsigns showing before him.

KN0JOU is the last novice callsign listed in the zero district at that time.
 
By the way I was licensed as KNOVFZ in July of 1959.
My listing shows up in the Winter 59 callbook.

A bit off topic in that it is not related to equipment but, I would like
to find someone what has or has access to or can direct me to the info.  I
am looking to find if my call, would have been KNØEQH, is listed in the
fall 1955 or Spring 1956 Call Book.  Trying to establish my initial date. 
Have misplaced/lost my original license. (Gads..60 years, I'm a
Boatanchor!)
