I have a huge collection of Hallicrafters units and parts that I am
thinking of selling. Included are some very rare receivers, equipment used in
the Hallicrafters lab and Hallicrafters "consumer radios. The asking price or
the works is $30K. Please don't ask fdior an inventory. There is too much
to list. Sale includes most high quality shelving and a treasure trove of
like new and used Hallicrafters manuals, a SR-540 4 Hurricanes (SR-2000)
(3 with power supplies, 2 TH-45s, a collection of S-38s (all suffixes), a
complete set of Hallicrafters test gear, some Echophones and much more.
There may be other gear and parts that I might include on the spur of the
moment.
Fine print: Cash only in advance at time of pickup (This is to insure that
nobody takes a few pieces, gives me partial payment and leaves me with what
they do not want) Pickup in Northern Virginia, no individual units will
be sold, take all or nothing. U load, I will not help.
73 and stay hydrated!

You have nailed it exactly all points.
Those worried about losing money on boatanchors best look at the price and
return on investment of anything new, especially electronics. What you
bought yesterday isn't worth half that today be it, radios, home
entertainment, test equipment, vehicles, appliances, etc.
At least I seem to be able to buy an old radio, repair it, enjoy it, and
pass it on and break even. The emotional and mental therapy gained is
priceless.
