[Boatanchors] "Oldtimer bitching"? Or Timely Warning? YouDecide.

Nick
You have nailed it exactly all points.
Those worried about losing money on boatanchors best look at the price and
return on investment of anything new, especially electronics. What you
bought yesterday isn't worth half that today be it, radios, home
entertainment, test equipment, vehicles, appliances, etc.
At least I seem to be able to buy an old radio, repair it, enjoy it, and
pass it on and break even. The emotional and mental therapy gained is
priceless.

YouDecide.

Look at the price of a movie and the entertainment you get.
Look at the price of a psychiatrist and the mental therapy you get.
Look at the price of a community college course and the education you get.
Look at the price of a gym membership and the weightlifting exercise you
get.

"Losing money" by learning about, searching for, restoring, and operating a
boatanchor is a tremendous bargain given the amount of exercise, learning,
mental stimulation, and emotional satisfaction that the activity provides.
