GA all,
I recently acquired the V-44 and would like to use with my 2-NT.
On 80m I get good output, but not quite as good as with a xtal on the
same freq. (70w with xtal, 62w with VFO). I have peaked L-3 at the
freq. of interest...around 3550kc. On 40m I get about 62w out on xtal
but only around 40w out with the VFO and L-4 peaked around 7050kc.
Up freq, say around 7.1mc, I get around 55w out. On 14.050mc I get
55w and on 21.05mc around 18w. I am wondering if the lower 7mc
outputs indicate a need to modify L-4 which is used for 40-10 meters.
I have made voltage/resis. checks and all are pretty close to specs.
I am happy with the 80m results, but would like to get a bit more out
on 40m....but if not, will be happy with the 40 or so watts out and the
use of a VFO. Any ideas re. the low 40m output?
Tnx, 73 de Bill K4JYS
PS: I am using 2ft of 75ohm coax for the output cable.
