I recently acquired one of the subject communications receivers. A little
history might be in order: E.H. Scott, the manufacturer who made one of the
top line home radios, made the subject receiver. A serial number analysis
indicates there could have been about 20 made. There are eleven known to
exist today. The radio has two front ends, one for BCB and longwave and the
other for shortwave reception. Like the home sets, the chassis are all
chromed, there are two chassis (tuner and amplifier/power supply) and then a
speaker or speakers.
Of the eleven known a limited number have cases like regular National,
Hallicrafters, etc. Most do not.
The tuner faceplate measures 24.5 inches wide (chassis is a nosetweak under
23 inches), 16.25 inches total depth with an 11.0625 inch high front panel.
Front panel mounting holes are about 23.6875 inches.
Does anyone know of a case that would fit this thing? If there was a rack
mount case that has 24 inch mounts equivalent to the 19 inch rack mount it
might work. Is there such a thing?
