Hi Dave:

I want it! I will not only read it I will archive it.

You are correct: the TCS gets a bad rap but it is probably the finest WW-II boat anchor in its size/weight class that you will ever find.

1. It's a Collins (if you get the right set)

2. It's small enough to fit in a desk.

3. It is beautifully built with high quality components and easy to find inexpensive tubes.

4. It is fun to operate.

5. Frequency coverage is excellent.

6. They can be made to sound great with a very little effort.

I have a NOS TCS-12 station that I got 35 years ago when no one wanted these and kept it all these years. I'm the last three years since I moved to Massachusetts and a much smaller abode I have let go a lot of stuff like my minty BC-375 and NIB BC-348-N but the TCS-12 station that I acquired in the 1970s is definitely a keeper. I plan on using it and would like to start work on it very soon. So any wisdom that you care to impart will be eagerly received my at least moi and I am certain others as well. I plan on archiving material such as this on the NEAR-Fest Web site as well.

My TCS is complete except for the cable that goes from the receiver to the remote speaker. And yes, I have both the power supplies.

Thanks for the years of wisdom, Dave.
