Yes, new homes are wired with romex and plastic outlet boxes. I used
to know an electrician who had some business going around to new homes
and replacing the cheap plastic boxes with steel.
At my place almost everything is in either BX or conduit.
Speaking of cheap, I was saddened to hear the news today that the GE
Appliance manufacturing business has been sold to a company in China.
This means that from now on when you buy a GE appliance, make sure it
is RF quiet first.
