I looked at the photo of the chassis underside on amfone.net.  It
looked like a nicely constructed rig and no "rats nest" at all.

Actually I prefer to not have cables laced up.  Makes wire tracing and
troubleshooting a pain in the ass.

My hunch as to why hams take a pass on the 6100 is lack of familiarity
with the synthesized frequency control and the way it looks.  I bet it
would make a great driver for a pair of 833As.
