Keith: You can't go wrong using Mouser, DigiKey or Jameco, but some really
attractive pricing can be had from Chinese sources. I've used Banggood,
(best bang for the buck is their slogan) and have not had any problems. I
pay with PAYPAL so they can't get more money than the order value.
1 Watt assortment:
http://www.banggood.com/500Pcs-50-Value-1Ohm-1M-1W-1-Watt-Metal-Film-Resistor-Assortment-Kit-p-1020645.html
Some 1/4 watt ones -- best value
http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-50-Value-Carbon-Film-Resistors-Assortment-Kit-2500-pcs-p-40426.html
I have not easily found any 1/2 watt assortments from them, but there is
this guy:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006XGK05A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
packages them nicely, but cost is higher. You will have to get used to the
5 band color code which can be confusing at first.. Good luck with your
project and finding cost effective capacitors. --Mike, WV2ZOW
