Evening All: Another manufacturer used by Heathkit ( SB220 etc ) that is still in business and doing well was Magnetic Windings located in Easton, Pa. Good transformers and used M6 laminations. Tnx Lee

And the company is still in business as "GTI" and doing well, from what I see on their website: http://www.gtipower.com/"GTI was established by K.C. Retzlaff in 1948. It was operated as a proprietorship under the name of Precision Transformer located in Muskegon, Michigan, USA. In 1951, the company was moved to Grand Haven, Michigan and incorporated under the name Grand Transformers Incorporated. As a result of K.C.’s love for amateur radio and his interest in electrical “tinkering,” GTI has grown to become a ‘World Class Manufacturer’ of inductive components."It's always heartening to see an old line supplier like GTI that is still thriving, even now that the founders sons have transferred ownership to a Michigan-based private equity firm. They made good stuff, too bad Hallicrafters didn't use it.73, Bob W9RAN______________________________________________________________Boatanchors mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/boatanchorsHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:Boatanchors at mailman.qth.netList Administrator: Duane Fischer, W8DBF** For Assistance: dfischer at usol.com **This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.htmlMessage delivered to lasavidge at aol.com
