I'm new to posting to this list ... I only recently found the posting address, though
I have long read the archives. I'm a restorer of old things ... R390A, SP-600, TRK-12 (TV),
CT-100(color TV) are my biggest projects.

Saturday I got a Hallicrafters S-36A (military version, four acorns) "UHF" (actually high SW and
low VHF) radio. It works, as promised. The meter needed hours of playing but now
works properly. It needs alignment, which I can easily do.

BUT ... it has a problem that needs help from people who have had it before.

The tuning mechanism, when tuned to the ends of its range locks up.
There is this spring lever that drops down and sits near the "end stops"
of the tuning knob cam. This it should do ... but its sits in the "wrong side"
of that cam. I have to get into the radio with a screwdriver and hold the level up to free it.

What do I do it fix this?
