I don't recall any of the Globe King series that ran more than 540-watts input on CW or phone. The 500-series were rated at 700-watts PEP for SSB operation. The 500 and 550A were rated at 500-watts CW and phone, the 500B was rated at 540-watts CW and phone. The older 400 and 400A were rated at 400-watts CW and phone and the 400B and 400C were rated at 435-watts CW and 400-watts phone. The 275-series were rated at 275-watts CW and phone. Glen, K9STH

We indeed understand that it IS the 500W model.
However, the meter movements were still based on the same Globe King Meters. Therefore the meter response design is the very same.
Whereby the suggestions as to reduction of the needle movement still apply.
