Nothing really critical as far as the power transformer. The ones used in
5 tube table radios should work fine. Toss the power supply tube and use
two diodes and heat generation will drop.
The unit has some gain (increases the noise level)_ from roughly 3 MHz to
30 MHz according to the specs. However I swept two of mine and above
roughly 24 MHz gain drops off considerably and by 30 MHz may even act as
an attenuator. Below 3 MHz, gain drops sharply and on 160 meters will act
as an attenuator. Also, with the TR Switch connected, the plate and load
controls of the transmitter can interact with the TR switch especially if
the receiver is set for a different band then the transmitter. Adjusting
the plate and load controls while listening to a different band can
interact with the gain produced by the TR switch.
