[Boatanchors] Speaking of cheap stuff (was harbor freight and soldering guns)

The problem is that there is a minority of viewers, mostly sports
fanatics, who relish plasma TV because it supposedly has more vivid
color and no latency (ghosting).  If you have one of there folks
nearby forget it.  They won't even let you buy them a new (nonplasma)
TV.   They say LCD is not good for live action.  I can null the noise
out here on 160 but it is a pain in the ...drain.  The noise from
things like TVs is one of the big reasons many hams have bailed on
160--it has simply become too difficult to operate there for many.
The same problem is what is killing medium wave AM broadcasting
according to people in that industry.
