[Boatanchors] Collins scope?

The only purpose that I can see with the repaint job is for aesthetic reasons. That is, everything is the same color.
I had one of the SB-620 "conversions" that I got in a trade deal. Basically, I had no money involved and, as such, the modified SB-620 was free. Mated to a 75S-3A receiver, the performance was "so-so". Frankly, of no real use to me. A west coast amateur radio operator found out that I had the unit and traded me an excellent condition 32S-1 transmitter for the SB-620. I definitely believe that I got the better end of the deal! Makes no sense to me unless someone's brain is all screwed up and cash is
burning a hole in their pocket. Repaint the unit, change the knobs, maybe
diddle with the circuitry, but in the end, it's just a masked piece of
Heathkit gear. It isn't Collins and never will be.
