[Boatanchors] Solder

Bry,

I had been using the Ersin "Savbit" that wards off some of the tip
erosion. Ersin has been difficult to get the last few years. I guess
this was the EPA and push by the "greenies" to eliminate awful,
horrible, polluting, poisonous LEAD from the planet? (tongue poking cheek)

If someone has some of the "SAVBIT" Ersin solder it will retard erosion
of the soldering iron tips.

I think they WERE making it in the USA now. But not sure. I first
started using it in the late "50's".
Last roll I found was YEARS ago. I am presently using Kester small
guage solder that seems to work nicely but
still not the quality of the old Ersin stuff. Solder in general has
gotten very pricey as well.

Let me know if you manage to find the "savbit" in 60/40 with the
activated flux.

73,

Sandy W5TVW
