Ersin Multicore Savbit Alloy *is* still manufactured and sold.
It lists the following points:
SAVES Copper and Iron-plated Soldering Iron Bits
SAVES failure of soldered joints as Savbit prevents erosion of copper
wires and copper
plating
SAVES costs and improves reliability
I have a handful of 1/2LB rolls that I use. This is my preferred solder
for SMT projects.
It is 0.015" in diameter.
