[Boatanchors] FRR-59 up for grabs

In a moment of excessive optimism about 10 years ago, I took one of these magnificent beasts off someone’s hands. It powered up but did not function. Soon after, I had to separate the two cabinets for a move to a new house, and after that it languished until I managed to re-connect the cabinets today. Now it doesn’t even light up. The fuses are intact. I could try to learn enough to trouble-shoot the receiver, but from what I’ve read, it had a reputation as failure-prone and a maintenance handful, and I don’t want to become a qualified FRR-59 technician. I’d like to put it into the hands of someone who has the expertise and the interest necessary to restore it to service and use it. We’re going to move to the Raleigh, NC, area this summer. I don’t want to have to take it along, nor do I want to have it shipped, although I might be willing to ship if someone who’s willing to absorb the cost.
I’m open to offers for this radio, but if there’s no interest in buying it, I will give it free to anyone who’s willing to come to the Toledo, Ohio, area to pick it up. I’d even be willing to drive a bit to meet someone partway. This rig is a beautiful piece of electromechanical engineering, and I’m willing to go to a bit of effort to ensure that it doesn’t end up in a landfill when they cart me off to the nursing home.
Another possibility is Dayton. I’ll be there on Friday and possibly Saturday, and I could drive my truck down if someone would like to pick up the receiver there. Or I’m open to other suggestions.
