[Boatanchors] News story about risk of high altitude EMP

Hello Mike,

I used to be a university lecturer. I never believed in spoon-feeding
my students, but I always encouraged them to do their own literature
search. Then when they came to the next class, they would share not
only their knowledge in a Socratic and dialectic manner but also their
joy of learning how to become autonomous students.
I suspect that if you went to your favourite search engine and put in
some combination of <Hiroshima, Nagasaki, EMP, electronics damage >
you would find untold value.

My own null hypothesis would be: 'That an EMP would do no damage
whatever to household mains transformers.' Now, it's up to you to find
the evidence to overturn this null hypothesis.
