Well, You are right. I should have used the RF probe to get a reading.
I also found that I had it set right in the nose with my previous
adjustment by peaking the noise. I have also found there are changes,
mostly in parts placement between the manual on BAMA and the one that
came with mine. I gather there were some changes between the SF series
and the SF-1. I haven't examined the two closely enough to see if there
were any circuit changes.
Does anyone have an elegant way to get the tip of the 410B RF probe into
tight places and be able to hold it there without having it touch some
thing and shorting it? I have used a short jumper with alligator
clips, but doesn't seem very elegant.
