[Boatanchors] FS: Rare Hammarlund HQ-200 with Factory Calibrator Installed

Here is is a very scarce HAMMARLUND HQ-200 General coverage receiver with the
factory installed crystal calibrator.  I have never seen one before with the
calibrator and darned few without it.  This was made when Hammarlund was owned
by EAC, much better known to the R-390 community.
 
This receiver belonged to a a good friend  used it for casual shortwave
listening for about 30 years.  Now that he is retired he wants a newer radio and
we found him an ICOM IC-R75 so he wants to sell the HQ-200 to pay for the new
one..
 
The radio works very well as it is and is completely original. A close visual
inspection shows everything looking as it should; no scorched or swollen
components, no mods, etc.  Controls are all smooth.   Cosmetically the front
panel is perfect and overall I would say this receiver is in VF (Very Fine)
condition. This radio, like its owner, worked for a living.  There are some
scratches around the black trim and a few bare spots on the cabinet but nothing
serious.  I would say that a good cleaning, light oiling as appropriate and some
DeOxit applied to the controls and this radio will be done; ready for the next
fifty years of service.
 
Checking eBay shows one sold recently for over $600 with no calibrator. I would
like to offer this to the HAMMARLUND and BOATANCHORS mailing list members before
putting it on eBay. I think $450.00 plus shipping is fair and reasonable
considering the scarcity of the item, the calibrator and the cosmetic condition.
