Gerry,
You should not approach this design with rule of thumb answers. Where
is the tower located? There are standards that define what the design
wind speed should be in that locale. What is the wind area of the
antennas to be installed? What are the soil loading ratings? What is
the surrounding terrain topography? etc.
Hip pocket engineering is not a good idea. You may be risking people's
lives. Get a professional engineer to design the base and check out the
tower ratings.
