[Boatanchors] Question about plexiglass

Simply go to your local Pharmacy and ask for a syringe.  They come in all sizes.  No questions asked except what will you pay for them????  I say .25 cents and get several --- say .10 and you will still get several.  I use them for building RC aircraft, injecting lubs, contact cleaner, etc.

Acetone does not attack PE.  Take a look at the cosmetics section in 
your local drugstore.  All of the nail polish remover comes in plastic 
bottles.
