Things aren't always what they seem at first glance - check the bid history
The two $6000+ bidders had 0 ratings and their bids were cancelled for some
(probably quite good) reason.
So it finally sold for $1400, which is still a pretty tidy sum - but there
were only 3 bidders above $300 and 2 bidders above $626 (still pretty steep
but not for people who'll pay 10x that for an audio amp). So somebody put
in what he thought was a ridiculously high bid ($1300) but another person
(with feedback rating of 12) had already bid more than that. Note - IF the
12 rating comes through, OK, but if not it'll go for $636 to the 2nd pace
bidder.
Moral - don't plan to retire by selling that TV-7 in your basement......Mr.
$1400 already has his, so the next contest will be between Mr. $600 and Mr.
$1300. And the one after that will be between Mr. $300 and Mr. $600. There
really is not an infinite supply of insane money....
Cheers,
