Tom, and others: There are plenty of the HP-23 series supplies
showing up on Ebay
BUT, keep in mind that due to the age of them they all need
"rebuilt," especially in the
area of the large HV capacitors, if not the resistive
elements. Heath was fond of
Voltage Multipliers for their supplies, even up to the big SB220 KW amps.
Unless the seller indicates a rebuild was done, figure on doing it yourself.
Voltage multiplier regulation is very dependent on these caps and
when they dry up
over the years, the voltages will drop whenever a load is
applied. Those not realizing
this may think their rigs are in need of repair.
Rebuild kits are available from small dealers, one of which is ProSolar at:
www.theheathkitshop.com
I have used Mike's kits. Nice to have all the parts in one package instead
of searching Mouser for everything.
Disclaimer: I am not involved whatsoever with Prosolar. Just a
satisfied user.
