[Boatanchors] OT: Which LED lamps are good and which ones bad (From a Radio noise standpoint)

Hi,

The ones I have are made by Cree. I but the "Daylight" models as opposed
to the wimpy, namby-pamby "soft white light bulbs. I wanna *see*. I used
a solid state AM radio to probe for "crap" and I found it when i got
inside two incehs from the lt bulb. So I stay back three or more inches.
They aren't cheap. But they are efficient and I consider them quiet.
They are the first ones I tried and then read horror stories from hams
with LED bulbs (and no brand names or other data cites). I have bought
quite a few and replkace most of the lights in my home with them -
especially LCD ones. I have been watching my electric bill slide
downward for almost a year and the move to LED bulbs is one of the
contributing factors.

I would suggest actually measuring the distance from the bulb to the
radio. Maybe you already did but a foot seems awfully close. One of mine
is at two feet (I consider THAT as awful close) and *all* the rest are
much farther.

I have been pleased to see others are reporting good performance from
other brands and models of LED lighting.

Happy New Year and..
