That is where some folks do NOT know how I set mine up!
I was INDEED selective. Set it up as a "Family" group, with only
invitations given.
I *have* been giving RTL-SDR a run. Only on one screen, only with a
single RaspberryPI.
It only serves as a broad view of activity. I have never participated
in contesting, and never will.
I even have to get off the computer to even run the little thing, as I
do NOT own multiple computers! The RaspberryPI isn't even located where
the radio is!
I get on the air when I can. I can be found on 40 AM when I am on.
The only part that comes close, is that I now run a plastic radio. All
the heavy metal went good-bye after a couple years of complete spinal
arthritis! Can't move the stuff any longer. It really was very
heartbreaking to see it all go! Most of it went to the Hazardous Waste
Disposal site. The reason being that not a single soul either wanted
it, or they wanted it extremely cheap and split shipping!
My $0.02 worth!
Regards,
Bob - N0DGN

It does take knowing how to use it -- which is a lot easier than getting all 47 pieces of software doing some esoteric digital mode and fully automatic contesting/logging running with a radio-on-a-chip-peripheral plugged into a shiny new laptop driving 4 screens.
