[Boatanchors] [BoatAnchors] All Good Things...

Bill, I have no burning desire to be a star promoting Face Book. I use it
every day with no issues but I don't consider myself an expert. If a topic
comes up I don't like I have the option to tell FB I don't want to see that
kind anymore and it goes away. I've hooked up with former employees and
employers, old church friends, and even used it to accomplish the return of
several Heathkit manuals that had be out on loan for a year.
FB is many things to many people. Those that don't like it will never use
it and that's OK. Personally I have got good info off the Heathkit and
Hallicrafters lists and have been able to share some of my knowledge with
others. OTOH, I moderate 12 or so HAM radio groups on Yahoo and enjoy that
as well.
Being a retired civil servant after 40.5 years, I have a lot of free time
and I look forward daily to learning new things and helping others when I
can.
As many have said, Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV).

Hi Gary,
I already posted on the other (another?) list to this thread. My experiences
with facebook have been very poor (being nice here). I can't make facebook
do what I want. It doesn't give me what I want or need and I can't seem to
control it. Meanwhile the mail lists do exactly what I want and need and I
already know how to use them. The learning curve, once upon a time, was a
mere half inch high. Anybody who can use a filing cabinet can use it
immediately.
So here is your big chance to be a star if you want to promote facebook.
Give us some pointers to help sites that can quickly get us on top of
facebook. Or else forget it.

Bill KU8H
