I'm with the majority. I like the for-sale ads. 
How about this as a compromise: an unofficial rule that the tag line on every for-sale ad must clearly state FS or For Sale? That way, if someone doesn't want to read for-sale ads, he/she can delete them without having to read them first. I think this is already done most of the time, but given the concerns voiced in the initial post, maybe we can make sure that we do this on every for-sale ad.

You can set your subscription to no mail but still post, and look at
postings on the web with a browser.  You can scroll down and pick and
choose what looks interesting.  The latest posts are at the bottom if
you pick the date sort link.
