Does anyone know of the existence of a service manual for the SBE-33
transceiver? I have the operating and service manual for mine but
wonder if there is a specific service manual. In looking at the SBE
manuals on BAMA, I see that there are two different manuals for the
SBE-34. One is an operating and service manual like that for for the
SBE-33, but the other is a dedicated service manual with more details on
alignment procedures and a long list of factory modifications to correct
specific operating problems.
If a similar manual is available for the SBE-33 is available, I would
certainly like to get a hold of one. I know factory mods were made to
the SBE-33. The SBE-33 manual on BAMA is for a SF series chassis. My
SBE-33 is a series SF-1. There are some slight changes in alignment
procedures between the two series as well as some parts changes in the
schematic. There is no listing or documentation of these changes.
My SBE-33 is the first rig I purchased after I upgraded to general in
1965 so I want to keep it top operating condition, sentimental I guess.
I have been using it on 40M with some intermittent problems but it
doesn't work at all on 20M. After I get it operating properly again, I
am going to add the X-lock frequency control to the VFO. Also, what
might be a good frequency readout to add?

There are two possible outcomes: if the result confirms the hypothesis, then you've made a measurement.
If the result is contrary to the hypothesis, then you've made a discovery.
