I fully intend to keep the level of complication to the lowest necessary.
I believe that *anyone* over 50 could write an entire book regarding
what has happened to radio.
*IF* she learns to use the manual, read the resistor value by the bands,
then this is also good!
The kit will have Q1 adjacent to the location that it goes. Most likely
it will also have E B C printed there also. The manual *should* have
the specific transistor listed for Q1, and a diagram showing E B C based
on the index if a metal contained one, or the number on the epoxy
encapsulated style, and show which is E B C.
This feeds into her well demonstrated intellectual abilities!
My worries, as well as her Mother's, is that she is developing a "No
Fear" mentality.
There is much more to the raising and educating youngsters today!
