[Boatanchors] Weird Stuff at Hamfests

Yep, I do things like that all the time. Several years ago, I went to NEAR-Fest, and came home with no fewer than five clocks. Other odd things I've bought at NEAR-Fest include several boxes of Commodore 64 computers and accessories, a large bin full of Atari/Nintendo video game stuff, an original Magnavox Odyssey system (the first home video game system ever), several other clocks, a Bulova Accutron wristwatch, old Bell System telephones, a few boomboxes, some high-end Bang & Olufsen stereo components (I'm a sucker for their gear for some reason), and a Farfisa Compact combo organ (bought a Peavey KB-60 keyboard amp there around the same time).

At the AARC show in Marlboro, MA earlier this year, the only thing I bought there was a Nintendo DSi XL system. At other Marlboro shows, I've bought wristwatches, stereo headphones, and archaic test equipment. Just today at the FARA show in Framingham, MA, I bought a Dolch PAC-586 luggable computer, a homebrew-looking digital clock (can you tell that I have a thing for timepieces?), a Pride Electronics TF-1000 clock/frequency counter (has functions relating to ham radio, but the initial thing that drew me to it was that yes, it doubles as a digital clock!), and a MAHA universal charger (which will hopefully work with the battery pack in my Icom IC-W32A). Not sure what it is with me...

So I go to the Split-Rock Hamfest in Succasunna, N.J., today in search of cool old boatanchors. I come home with a Martin Backpacker guitar ($20). I'm always amazed at some of the neat non-radio stuff you can find at hamfests.
