[Boatanchors] National Select-O-ject versions

I recently acquired a National Select-O-Ject. I have a late version NC-57
and an NC-183D among others. I plan to use the SOJ with one or the other,
or maybe both.

Having done a fair amount of research on the Net (most information was from
2009 threads), I learned the following about various SOJ models:

1. All three of the SOJ models 1 through 3 below are identical except for
the plug wiring.

2. The SOJ-1 is for all receivers. The plug is not factory attached, the
purchaser attaches the plug according to instructions.

3. In the SOJ-2, the plug is factory wired specifically for the HRO-7,
NC183 or NC-173.

4. In the SOJ-3 the plug is factory wired specifically for the NC-183D,
NC-183B, HRO-50, HRO-60, NC-173B or NC-57B (and maybe for the
late version of the NC-57 since that version seems to be identical to
the NC-57B).

5. An SAF-1 model exists.

The unit I have is the type 1 style which was supplied without a factory
wired plug. The purchaser then wired the plug according to the instructions
(the physical evidence shows the original purchaser did attach the plug).

The copper backside of my unit is engraved with the model number SAF-1.
However, a black SOJ is stamped (like from a rubber stamp) over the engraved
SAF. The question: Just what is the Model SAF-1?

I believe I have an SOJ-1 but still wonder what and why is there an SAF-1?

Being a collector, I am also looking for an original (not a copy from BAMA
or elsewhere) Instruction sheet, sheets or book, whatever was provided by
National. If anyone has one they wish to part with, please let me know,
including price. At times I have purchased an original manual and returned
a good copy with the $$$$.

Thanks
Gerry
