The targeted seller laughed the most.
You guys would be a lot of fun to hang out with!

Subject: [Boatanchors] Hamfest Pricing, Getting a good deal
About 20 years ago I was at a large outdoor 'fest with a couple of friends.
Another guy we knew pretty well had a tailgate set up and was selling. As it
happened, one of our guys was using a motorized chair. He could walk fine
but used it to save energy at bigger hamfests.
We came up with a practical joke. One of the guys borrowed the chair, put on
a big straw hat over his head, slumped in the chair and motored over to said
table. Without his face being seen, he pointed a twitching finger at an old
military antenna tuner and asked in a frail, weak voice 'how much is
that?'.
Unaware that he knew the guy in the chair, Bob the seller said 'well old
timer if you can use this, its yours, free.' Imagine the look on
the seller's face when the wheel chair bound geezer jumped up out of the
chair, grabbed the tuner, said 'gee thanks' and sprinted off with it!
Needless to say we all cracked up laughing. The tuner was returned and all
were happy. The targeted seller laughed the most.
Not intended as a slap against wheel-chairees. Gawd knows, I'll be there
soon enuf!
