[Boatanchors] Is Somebody Nuts or Is It on My End?

It's my opinion that when a seller sets a ridiculously high reserve price, he hasn't really settled on the idea of parting with
the rig. I had an employer once who was a ham and he had an old Johnson right up in the loft of the shop. I asked him once if
it was for sale, and he said that to him "everything is for sale at the right price." However, he wasn't really set on letting the rig
go even though it had sat up there for years in storage. So, he quoted a price that was way too high, knowing that while I
wouldn't mind having the rig at a sensible price, I wasn't going to pay an out of sight price just so it would help him feel good
with the thought of letting go of it. Someone who has settled his mind on letting go of a rig and will be happy about it will
set a reasonable price that matches what you might pay elsewhere.
I have often let rigs go for less than I'd really like or for less than what someone else might get for the same rig just because
I really want the rig to go to someone who will put it to good use and get it back on the air or continue using it on the air.
