[Boatanchors] E-Pay At It Again

Good afternoon Mike.
At least on everything I have followed, if there is less than a day remaining, the timer reverts to hours, minutes, and seconds... so far at least, including just a few minutes ago.
If ebay wanted to eliminate sniping, they would implement a moving auction-end... any bid entered in the final X minutes of the auction extends the end time of the auction by some amount like 10 or 30 or 60 minutes.
I'm actually somewhat surprised they haven't done that before now.

Subject: [Boatanchors] E-Pay At It Again
Well, E-Pay is at it again!
They have now taken the exact end time off the auction listings so it's
impossible to tell how many seconds remain to the closing time.
When you pull up an item, all it shows is the time left in hours and
minutes. If it says 12:17 PM, is the ending time 12:17:51 or is it
12:17:04?
It appears that the change was made to foil snipers (and the automated
sniping software), but I couldn't get anyone at E-Pay to give me
a reason for the change. When I pressed to speak to someone who could
explain the change, Customer Service hung up on me.
First, they removed successful bidder IDs, then they made it impossible
to pay with anything other than PayPal (which E-Pay owns, BTW),
and now it's this! It just looks like the bean-counters at E-Pay are
making a concerted effort to hassle the users.
FWIW ...
