The 145A came with a product detector, solid-state rectifier, flip-top
lid and several other refinements. The 145XA never really saw the light
of day. However, the 145AX was a 145A with the clock removed and a 11
position crystal switch/sockets/etc added for fixed frequency operation.

different. I bought a 145X new in 1971.  Wish I still had it.  It was a
