In the 1970 ARRL publication “Single Sideband for the Radio Amateur” pages 134-137 A four 811A linear is described that is almost identical to your Warrior including the neutralizing arrangement and 866A rectifiers. The grids of the 811As are returned to ground through a separate meter in this design. You could do the same thing returning your grids (bypassed of course) to ground through an appropriate shunt to make your meter read correctly.
