[Boatanchors] Diode replacements for 866 tubes, ratings needed ?

It seems to me that there is an awful lot of probably well-intentioned but 
totally incorrect misinformation being spread under this heading.
The only time you get high Voltage spikes from chokes is in choke-input 
half-wave rectification. Even designers using 866s would never have made 
that mistake.
