You can also use "perf-board".  Radio Shack just happens to be one of the best, relatively inexpensive, sources of "perf-board".  Also, they have excellent aluminum mini-boxes at very good prices.  This is definitely not like most of the things that they sell which are either not the best quality or way overpriced. Glen, K9STH

Those R.S. prices are ridiculous.  I'd start looking around at
surplus stores.  Fair Radio, Leeds, D&D Surplus, check eBay, maybe
Bill Perry in Louisville (he has an ad every month in ER), hamfests,
I'd even try surplus sales in nebraska.

But instead of all that, you can also mount and solder the diodes on
breadboard and screw the whole breadboard to a chassis with four
standoffs.  I think I'd try that instead of the terminal strips.  You
can mount the breadboard vertically on a side with two or more L
brackets.  R.S. used to sell circuit board stock and their prices for
that weren't all that awful.
