Use the 6939 tubes if you want to convert the Valiant to run about 40-watts!

That tube is a dual tetrode designed for low power UHF operation!

Methinks he means the 6293 which is a pulse rated 6146 with a peak rating of 
1000-watts input.  Those make for excellent replacements for the 6146 and 
6146A/8298.

Be careful if you get the 6146B/8298A or 6146W tubes.  Those are harder to 
neutralize than the original 6146, 6146A/8298, and 6293 tubes.
