Joe,
Hallicrafters went through a vast gambit of different speaker impedance.
The 5K, 600, 8, and even the odd 4.x ones.
I believe that there was simply a lot that Hallicrafters did was much
along the lines of the National folks.
The different periods were rife with making due with either surplus
parts, and constant changing design to keep up with the availability of
these components.
The true answer(s) are not there due to the aging of old documents, and
the loss thereof.
We are simply placed in the position of having to deal with what we get,
find, or happen to discover.
It is one of the Boatanchor issues that each and everyone with them
experiences, and has to come to terms with.
Sincerely, Regards,
Robert "Bob" Bethman
