[Boatanchors] SX25 Hallicrafters

I have an SX-25 without the matching speaker. I use a step-down transformer
from 600 ohms to 4 ohms to drive a conventional speaker.

I would love to have the matching speaker.

The SX-25 needs a matching transformer for its 500 or 5000 ohm impedance
audio output.

Hi Bob,

I think the best motto when comparing a Hallicrafters receiver to its
schematic is, "expect the unexpected" :) Even within a series there are
often discrepancies. I can say that my SX-88 seems to perfectly match the
schematic in the original manual that came with it but it still provided a
little Hallicrafters amusement. Because the SX-88 was their high dollar
model every connection had a little red dot of inspection paint put on after
soldering. One of the coil lugs for the highest range had the nice red
inspection dot but no actual solder :)

I didn't see your reply to the list prior to replying to Rob's email.
