[Boatanchors] HRO-50T Saga: Quick Transformer Question

Joe,

The way to double check these things is to start with the tube data sheet:
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/sheets/191/6/6V6.pdf

See "Push-Pull Class A1 Amplifier." For approximately 250 volts on the
plates, and 16 volts on the cathodes, i.e. -16 volts G1 bias, the
effective plate-to-plate load resistance is 10K ohms. So far, so good.

The next thing to check is that the low impedance secondary of the
output transformer really does connect to R-44. This is the
negative-feedback path that should make the amplifier nice and linear.
Phasing counts. The amp will oscillate like there's no tomorrow if the
phasing is wrong.

Good luck,
Al
