It IS ancient history.....but a few of the posts I have been reading in this
thread convinces me that not everyone knows it.
Richard's mic 101 class helps with an understanding for those who don't know
that they don't know anything about mic impedance....
Now all we gotta do is convince Richard to put his responses at the TOP of
the page instead of the bottom...lol
Normally I delete his posts without reading because of this in spite of
wanting to read what he says......don't know why I read this one.

You make it sound like a xtal D104 into a 5 or 10 meg grid is ancient
history. I know lots of phone ops who run D104s like that.
They sound great provided the grid resistor is very high value resistance.
