[Boatanchors] Refurbishing a Hallicrafters SX25 receiver

WA9VLK had an extensive two part article on restoring the SX25 in
Electric Radio, January and February 2013, issues 284 and 285. I'd
send off to Ray Osterwald and purchase those issues. As I recall he
covers alignment and gets into rebuilding the IF transformers if you
want to go that far. But it is certainly a comprehensive treatment
that will give you all the "gotchas." http://www.ermag.com

I also highly recommend subscribing to ER if you plan to get into
doing a lot of work building and restoring and purchase as many back
issues as you can. The whole past 30 years (around a dozen issues are
out of print however) is kind of steep, but try to at least purchase
issues as needed, or get a few years at a time on-going.
