The 1AG4 and 6008 are wire lead tubes and both were used in early R/C
operation in the receivers....mainly super regen.
I still have a couple of the Babcock receivers I used back in the mid
50's....they actually worked!
Both have 1.5vdc filament and used 30v on the plate.
The 6008 has half the fil current pf the 1AG4.
They are about 3/4" long and 3/16" thick.
They are not the so-called 'gas' tubes...these are vacuum tubes.

I don't have any, but weren't these the tubes used in the WWII proximity
fused ship board anti aircraft shells? I also think I used them in RC model
airplane receivers I built back in the early 1950's.

Before I came here I was confused about this subject. Having listened to
your lecture I am still confused. But on a higher level.
