If you can't get to a hamfest you may as well look on-line.  used HF
slugs are like decent ham band crystals, hard to find.  Actually at
hamfests, 98% of them seem to be for VHF.  The one exception is
Dayton, but even there from what I have seen, you don't save much and
you may not be getting anything good.  I got one or two slugs at
Dayton over the years but the rest I had to bit the bullet and buy
on-line.
