It is said that "olde tymers" sent CW at a pretty high wpm rate because a short "dah" turned the plate red and a long "dah" melted the plate!

Dave: Wouldn't worry about stressing the 6AQ5 since they are
plentifully available
and not expensive.
Check the 1939-1940 QST articles about the QSL (chassis size) one tubers called
the QSL 40, QSL 60, and the P-P QSL 100 by Fred Sutter, W8QBW.
He used the 6L6 and got 40, and 60 watts out. The P-P rig used two 6L6 and
put out 100W with 600V on the plates!
As long as you don't hold the key down too long, they survive, (for awhile)
